Question Rebuilding/upgrading stock turbo

Anyone have any good resources of information on this?

I'm batting around the notion of removing the stock turbo, rebuilding it with a bigger compressor wheel and housing. I'm guessing the cartridge that would contain the bearings would run ~100, 150 for the housing, and ~150 for the wheel. Does this seem right? Would I need more (just in regards to the turbo itself)?

TIA,

Joe

Building a Hybrid

Your gonna need a back plate too. While your at it, use a dynamic seal rather then the carbon, and get a 360 thrust. I'd port the hell out of the wastegate while you have it apart, also getting the turbine clipped would be benifit for you too. There is a lot of info considering hybrids on this forum, do a search. BNR sells them at a good price and I hear nothing but good things about them. I would'nt recommend doing it your self unless you have a good way to balance it. Its very important to balance an object spinning 10-100 thousand RPM's. Also, unless you have a lath, your not going to be able to clip the turbine.

Balancing will be done. Would it be feasible to then replace the turbine wheel and housing for better flow?
