rebuilding rear brake calipers
For anyone who has ever rebuilt rear brake calipers. The Kits I have come with 2 packs of grease one orange and one red?
What is each for, I have read the FSM and it doesn't specify.
If it helps the orange is about a tea spoon, the red about half that.
Thank you

I rebuilt my calipers all around at once but I don't seem to remember the different color grease. I believe it is for the rubber seal to set in the race, which one to use I wouldn't know (or remember).

Have no idea,, got my kits from napa,,there was no grease in mine,,u just need some thing to protect the o-ring/seal when u put them together I used Vaseline same thing witch is used to protect lip seal when rebuilding automatic transmissions,,only thing i can think of is maybe one is grease and one is a sealer for the out side dust boot(2 help hold the boot in the caliper)!!

I'm in the process of rebuilding both the front and rears on my FD. Fronts are done and was searching info about the rears.
Just a FYI in case someone else needs this info
Grease colours
Orange Grease: Bearings, adjusting bolt, strut and piston boot
Pink Grease:Piston seal
