Porting it will make it have more power. I have seen many sites that provide porting for like an extra 300-500 bux.

If you are keeping it nonturbo then porting is well worth it. From everything I have read a street port can make an N/A pull very hard up top. 20-25 hp gains is what I have heard. You have to address the issue of emissions and driveabiliy if you are thinking about that though.

Ok, I have nothing against Canadians or the proposal for them dominating the world. But you need to axe that bit-bloated animated sig banner! It ***** up my computer whenever one of you canadians posts it!! I thought it was just Amur posting it, but now you too!

It's all part of being Dominated by Canadians, eh?

How to port your intake manifolds:

You might consider also doing the TB mod, but there have been mixed reactions to that...

For the 2+ weeks w/o your motor, there's tons of stuff to do. There's a good list of mods on here somewhere... but just off the top of my head: remove emissions stuff, TB, exhaust, intake, cold air box, battery relocate (for more room, not power), fuel pump rewire (engine safety), performance clutch, lighter flywheel...

Canada may have nice weather compared to the Texas summers, but that's about it, probably.

canada smells like my dirty whites, although montreal is pleasant and they seem to have made "eh" a suffix to every sentance :o

I've got an 91' that's being streetported now It's well worth the effort to have it done Just make sure that whom ever you get to do it, knows HOW you want it to drive, they can massage the shape, size and entry angle to suit if they are good at it..

north Carolina smells like unwashed rednecks and trailer parks.. So which is worse ??

and the French say eh', most english speaking Canadians .. don't , of course we could go into the whole 'y'all' or 'du'wah?' verbage you all seem to have down there..

Ouch that has got to hurt!
But seriously porting your engine is very ticky if you make the ports longer you make the timming different if you make them too close to the back you will have blow by and loose some compresssion. I woul seriously reccomend Rx-7 specialists they did mine for 325 all said and done!
Good luck... PS Ever been to sk smels like the freshest air in the world due to the lusch forest and abundance of trees at least to the north! very nive and very CLEAN!

I got my motor street ported for free, by yours truly! just buy a template at mazdatrix for like 40 bux, get some carbied bits, die grinder, and some sanding rolls, turn down the air prusher to 70 psi, it will allow you to not **** up
