Rebuilding a FC

Hey..Im pretty new to the forum

Ive just bought a FC for 200 bucks.
It doesnt run, it needs a lot of stuff.
I know its a NA but Im not sure what model as I havent picked it up yet

Basically Its gonna need a motor and I wanna be boosting. Should I look at a Turbo II motor or go with the FD 13b setup ?

Also it needs interior, does all the Turbo II stuff bolt up to the N/A's ? I want the Turbo II wing and mirrors and hood as well.

What should I know when building a Fc...anything special..suggestions..horror stories..opinions ?

hey. THis subject gets mentioned about once every week. I say just get another n/a motor, from a 91. More BHP then the 86-88 dont get a T II engine because along with the engine comes...brakes, new wiring harness, boost gauge, all that crap, driveshaft tranny bolts. So just go with an N/A engine. Although you can get all those accessories to the best of my knowledge. Turbo 2 mirrors, and hood. Lights all that....

Hope this helps you out

Evan

Not an option, I must boost it. NA is not an option. If I wanted NA I'd get a honda...its just this 7 was a steal at 200 bucks so I didnt let it pass. I will go the extra miles to make this work, I just need to do some research

Are you ready to spend about 4k to 5k just to get it that way because that is what you are about to spend. You are talking about the engine, turbo, wire harness, and miss things that you would need to get it right. I have a list of things that you would need email me at zm97@aol.com and i will send it to you. I know i was going to do the same. And your 7 will beat a honda all done up if you do yours right too

save yourself the $200 and wait till you can buy a running turbo II. it will cost alot less then trying to rebuilt yours with a turbo engine.

I am in the process of converting a NA to a TII right now and it WILL NOT cost me 4-5K more like $1000-1500. I searched and bought a non-running TII ($400) the engine rebuild kit ($800), I will have less than $1500 in the total conversion. You can't count tires, brakes, interior and other stuff that goes along with either a NA or TII in the price.
Now mind you, I am doing all the work myself and if you are going to have somebody else do it then you should just get a running TII to start with.
If you need any info on the conversion, give a shout.

Joe

Are you going to change your tranny and drive linbecause the N/A stuff will not work and you also need another wire harness dash and engine, ECU, ect. Not unless you can find a wrecked one in a yard and use the parts from it.

If you have the $$$ go with a halltech, going this route will save you the hassle of finding a T2 ECU, Harness, plus you will be able to extract more power!
