Rebuild - Specing tools...

I was watching Bruce's video and making a shopping list over at harber freight...

Can I use a dial caliper to replace the micrometers that he says I need?

I really see those tools as the same thing....am I wrong...should I just get the dial caliper and the micrometers?

Thanks!

James

I always just used the caliper, but sometimes you can have a hard time measuring the insides of bores.

Probably the Bruce Torrentine rebuild video available from Rotary Aviation. Covered in great detail in the past. Also there is the new Atkins video, which most say is not as good as the Torrentine video. Many threads about this as well.
