Exclamation Rebuild or reman?

Okay i have had my rx7 for 2 years and all it has done is sit in my garage screaming fix me...up until now i did not have the money to do anything to the motor it has a blown apex seal i believe. My question is....Is it better to go rebuilt or remanufactured as far as motors? this is the only thing that stands in my way im going to start my bodywork and paint after this semester of school.....i would really like everyones take and input on the subject.....

It really depends on what your plans are for the car. If you just want to remain stock then you can do either, a rebuild is typically less expensive.

If you plan on upgrading the car for more power, then a good place to start is with a streetport, which you can only do during the rebuild process, and is not available with a reman.

Also a Mazda reman is just a Mazda rebuilt engine.

reman is just short for remanufactured, your just paying more for mazda to do it.

^There is something to be said for a factory reman.

The concensious seems to be that mazda seals are a better choice than aftermarket seals.

New vs used housings ect. there are lots of choices.

I just got my rx7 rebuild today it runs great just like new but am not trying to push it to much they told me to let it break inside i think just rebuild the engine and just add Mods it should still be a fast car..!
