i have an 88 TII, and i was under the impression that it was low impedence ..

i thought s5's were high impedence???

88's and all 89-91's are high impedence. 87's were the only turbos with low impedence injectors i believe.

87.5 -> 92 = high impedance

OK I go the harness today.

It has kind of put me in a spin right now.........

It is different than my NA or TII harness I have.

First of all. Small change.
The O2 plug is now branching off at the ACV plug instead of at the secondary injector plugs. No biggy.

NOW the BIG difference!
There is a WHOLE orange interior connection plug MISSING! There aren't any cut wires or anything! It's like it came this way stock!

WTF!?

Is this right?

Will it even run this way???????

It's a high impedance S4 harness so It had to come from a 88 TII.

Has anyone ran into this?

Digi, why didn't you just run a couple of new wires on the existing harness to fix that rear injector circuit, at least temporarily to make sure that's gonna fix your probs....

There's gonna be a national holiday celebrating hard head-edness when you finally get this thing running, lol...

Well I have to work with that ******* old harness

THe one I just got is a Jspec and is missing major plugs

****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I am going to cut this pristine harness apart for better runs of wire for my old harness.

The injector plugs and wires are beautiful. No cracks/still pliable and fresh looking.

I've stripped both harnesses down to thw wires.

I plan to rewire all my solder points(one for my FCD actually fell out !)

I am going to cut the Jspec harness a foot or so from the injectors. This section is SOOOOOO m,uch better than my current setup.

I had to rewire a lot of connections.

Now I will just have a certain spot which I rewire in.

I'm rewiring the FCD lines and resistor pack lines so it hopefully will be all really good. I got new plugs and connectors with some 16 gauge line in two colors.

Also I got some blue electrical tape to match my Blinging blue engine bay

Lol, I used blue too, to rewrap (almost) the entire harness, during the rebuild, it looks good...

Let's hope you get her running finally...

well I redid all my plug connections. I didn't bother cutting up the Jspec harness.

This time I used the correct crimping tool so it has some tight fitting/connections now.

I rewrapped it in blue(very pimp looking ) and put it in the car.

I tested for voltage and all came to the same volts(9V but battery is dying/have to charge it up)

I just have to plug most of the harness back up and put the UIM on.

Then I pray like no other! lol

ROUND TWO: FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I put it all together and to my pure awesome happiness!!!!

It doesn't have spark lol!

It's late so I'm giving up tonight.
I'm getting 12v through all injector lines so I shoudl be good there.

I will perform a "flood test" tomorrow.
Pretty much I'll pull the spark plugs and flood the **** out of my engine.
Then pull the plugs and see if I get a nice clouds of gas vapor.

Then I will check for spark from any plug(so far none)

Well I tried to start it up and it did nothing. Sounded exactly like it did with the fuses out.

So I took one of my old spark plugs and wires and connected it to the front leading.
Rested it near the AC letal tube like we did last time.

Then checked the front trailing...

Nada.

I'll try again tonight. I'm kind of clueless why it would stop giving spark. The fuses are all good.

Yeah sooo........

your gonna think this part is funny.

I forgot to plug the CAS in! lol
So that fixed the no spark problem.

Now the car seems to be doing the same exact thing.
I flood the engine to super levels.

Then remove front rotor leading plug.
Crank enginer and watch a huge puff of gas come out....
Next I do it to the rear leading plug.
Nothing......... No cloud

Thus no gas meaning

I have a FCD and the S4 knock sensor.
I doubt the knock sensor is doing this so we can rule that out right?

The FCD....
It's a HKS. Could it some how be sending the fuel cut signal to the ECU? Is there a certain pin or voltage which can determine if fuel cut is happening?

Digi, what's your rear primary pin at the ECU look like? On the primaries, you'll see the 12v go down a little if the injectors are firing- if it stays rock steady at 12v, the ECU ain't firing it (or grounding it, whatever ya want to call it)

Can you remove the FCD inputs, for now, to see if anything changes?

I can probably just jumper the FCD line so the Boost sensor has no FCD.

I'll check injector pulse in voltage tomorrow night.

I have 2 ECU's here thanks to Jrat.

So far I drove the car perfectly yesterday for 18 miles!!!!!!

The one variable I removed from the system?
The HKS FCD!

I am concluding the FCD was screwing up and sending the engine into fuel cut.
That helps with the reason why only the rear rotor didn't get fuel.

So I'm going to try and rack more miles today YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also try and add a fuel cut switch and maybe fiberglass a fan shroud for my permacool/finger chopper.

I've got 36 miles on the engine so far.

I drove it around and onto some main streets.

All I have to say is
DAMN!!!!!!!!

It's almost impossible to stay out of positive pressure while driving.
I hit second gear and it went to 1psi by accident today as I was getting to speed of traffic.

40 miles

I met a local guy with a street ported Silver FD. He's doing high 12's right now.

I plan to take it to work Wednesday or Tomorrow for a test run of daily driving.
