Rebuild, No Start, Half of primary coil works
S4 TII. I just freshened up the seals and ported it. Put it back in and wasn't sure if it would turn over because of a little hiccup I had in the reassembly. But it turns over fine.
The problem:
I tested the coils according to the FSM. L2 coil received 11.76V (the current battery voltage) L1 coil only came to just under 5V.
The trailing coil I forget at this point as its a 10minute drive away, was either 11.76 and 0 or 0 and 0. I'm thinking it was the former, not the later.
I hooked up my timing light and only one coil triggers the light?
The things I'm not sure about:
The O2 sensor isn't hooked up (i've read this isn't a problem) not sure tho.
The sensors on the trans aren't hooked up as I didn't think it was important.
The Down pipe isn't on.
I can't seem to get any of the spark plugs to spark.
I switched the wires so L1 is the rear rotor and L2 is the front. That was the only time I seemed to get ONE pop on the exhaust when I do this
I have fuel, all the sensors (minus the ones listed) are connected.
I am lost. I searched I need help.

even if you did everything right you've still got the primary coil to worry about. so see if u can fix that first then see if it starts. actually this thread caught my eye bc i had just done my first rebuild for my na vert. i was lost also as it just didnt want to start and was devestated as well as having to crack open the motor again bc an outer coolant seal popped out of its groove. i was just about to give up until a friend adjusted my timing and it started up. check this out.

check this out to(specifically where it calls for an ample amount of engine oil{up to 1/2 a cup for each rotor} in each rotor to build enough compression--i used 2-stroke oil.) that is if its used housings.

ps what seals did you replace besides the apex seals? i did just the apex seals and reused every other seal-side and oil control with their springs except for of course the rubber o-rings inside the oil controls.
good luck.

There's only one coil in the Lead assy. It fires both lead plugs together. As at the same moment. Can't have one lead spark without the other firing.
02 sensor has zip to do with it. Transmission plugs have zip to do with it.
Having a spare CAS is handy. Just connect it to the harness and spin the cas lower gear by hand and the plugs should fire or not fire. If you have one cas, then remove it and spin its lower gear with the key ON. See if you have spark from both lead wires.
