Angry rebuild, in low boost, chattering metal/ceramic sound? WTF?

Well, I just got my rebuild in a couple weekends ago, and turned over 1000 miles. I have started giving it 1 or 2 psi just to feel the power. Anyways, I seem to be getting a similar sound to detonation at anything above 2 psi. It doesn't sound as LOUD as my last bout with detonation, but very similar.

I just got my injectors back from Marren Fuel Injection. I have an upgraded fuel pump, rewired too. The motor has a streetport, TB mod, TID mod, and I ported the wastegate and turbo inlet like on RETed's site. My turbo is now spitting oil and I have a good amount of shaft play. One of my friends asked if maybe my compressor was rubbing on the compressor housing. The sound doesn't have a rythem, but it gets louder with more boost.

The last time I had detonation, it was because my boost sensor signal wasn't getting to the ECU, so I rewired it. I'm going to check it this afternoon, after I take a test.

Any other suggestions?

Yeah, I wish they were crossed, but they aren't, unless L doesn't go on the bottom plugs and T doesn't go on the top. I may be losing my sanity? I switched em for the helluvit, and the car ran about the same. I got the same noise though, so it must be detonation :o

I set my timing a few days ago dead on the yellow mark to pin to leading coil. It was at about 800 rpms.

Okay... heres another clue. When the engine is cold (not THAT cold...) and I rev the engine from 2K to 3K somewhat quickly, I hear the chirp sound that is... Detonation. To me, this all seems to point to timing. But I set it with a timing light, the way one is supposed to. Argh...
