Which rebuild kit for first time rebuild

Hey guys I bought a 1990 gtu with a blown engine and I'm in the process of rebuilding the motor. I was wondering if I should buy the Atkins master kit or just the basic closing kit for my first rebuild. Or even if there is a better budget kit. Just let me know thanks.

The Atkins website makes it clear. Open up the engine first and inspect everything. Then decide.

Atkins, pineapple racing. Goopy, rotary aviation. Pick and choose parts from each.

I really liked the pineapple racing water seals, used Atkins for most of the soft and hard seals, rotary aviation apex seals. External gasket kits from whoever had the best prices.

But as above said open it up first, start measuring everything and decide what you need. Honestly the springs were cheap enough to use all new springs. Might as well upgrade the corner seals to full solid (fd I think). Inspect bearings for wear. Inspect plates for wear, inspect everything for wear.

Have questions? Call pineapple racing and the guy in their videos is super helpful

DO NOT buy a master kit. Complete waste of money.

1. open it up and see if you need irons or rotors first
2. seal kit # 8AF5-10-271A
3. apex seal and springs # ARE132
4. Oil control O ring # ARE15
5. corner spring # ARE85
6. front/rear main seals # ARE81
