i see rebuild kits on ebay all the time. are tehy worth it?

what needs to be included in a "kit" like that to make it complete?

 

depends on where you get those really. The atkins one on ebay is not a complete one for a rebuild. You will need the side seals, gaskets, water seals, oil control rings (optional) and bearings (optional).

This really depends on what you need for your rebuild. If you want everything including all the gaskets for the intakes and exhaust, then you have to either buy the parts seperately or buy a "made" kit from someone like Mazdatrix or Racing Beat. Mazda never made an actual "kit" for the full rebuild. Stores put the parts together and call it a rebuild kit. I just email Brian at www.mazdaformance.com and tell him what year engine and if it is turbo or N/A and he replies with the price and parts that I need. That is the best price I have seen, even over the eBay ads from Atkins.
