Your car doesn't sound like that because yours is stock. The exhaust diffusers are located in the exhaust ports in the engine on N/A 2nd gen rx7's. They are meant to decrease noise by diffusing the sound waves, but many N/A people remove them during rebuilds or porting.

most people rebuild when there engines blow! unless they have the money And they want to streetport it and all, I just figured somthing was wrong with it for you to rebuild it, I dont read everything! There is alot to read, So maybe i missed somwhere why you rebuilt it! i dont know the full story

this waz a engine that came outta one of my parts cars allready blown... and i had a running engine with 66k miles on it in my car with weak oil seals, so i decided to do a rebuild to blown engine

Like I said, man....definitely the coolest 15yr old i know. In 6yrs you'll get a beer from me, at least. Congrats on the build man, sounds like the apex seals seated right in good. Very smooth rev and pretty good hot start for no more time than you have on it.

it took me about a month but i only worked on it on weekends.. cleaning was the real pain. and yea it waz cheaper it came to like 540 or somthing like that and that price included the RVT, Masking tape, and paint

wow thats good 540$ huh makes me wonder if i can do it in a week or soo! i was planning on having someone else do it but man!!!hmmm im going to have to really think about it man.1000+ or 500-600$?

Please keep this thread clean. If I have to do any more cleaning, I will just delete it.
It's been mentioned before, but it is worth repeating. Put the fan shrowd back on. The stock 89+ temp gauge has three settings: cold, normal and new engine. The gauge will stay in the center even though the engine is running at unsafely hot temperatures, and by the time it shoots up to the "HOT" area, it's already too late.

How long did it take you to do the rebuild? I am thinking of buy this 86 gxl down the street, it has 220k miles and runs great and is real clean but I don't know if it will be worth it.
