rear wiper ground

Im trying to get my rear wiper to work. this is my 3rd rx7 so Im familiar with this problem. This one is 1990 without turbos. The rear wiper motor does work as I tested it with 12 volts. I know that the power goes through the hatchback strut. I cleaned the contacts and even jumped the wires thus eliminating the possibility of a bad strut contact, and still doesnt work. I checked for power and ground at the wires going to the strut, strangely enough they are not getting enough power, I would estimate maybe two volts. Actually, this seems to ba a reverse ground on the wiring, because the 12 volts is there but when I ground it to the ground wire it only comes on at about 2 volts. At leat however it does flash intermidantly in accordance with the rear wiper switch position, so the switch does work, but maybe has a bad ground. Is there an amplifier module for the rear wiper switch? Or maybe the switch has a poor ground?

On a happier note I did fix the rear window washer pump motor. It was easy, I just removed the reservoir and unscrewed the tiny 12 volt motor. It was just a little gunked up. I spun the small impellar with my fingers and that unstuck it. Now it works great! Someone probably never used it and let it get dry, so it froze up.

BTW, what does FC stand for? FD? I guess I am a little bit of a greenhorn.

What are the colors of the two wires at your connector??????? Is one of them black with a red stripe? The other light green with a yellow stripe? I must of misunderstood. It sounded like you grounded the wire with 12v to a ground. Puzzle.
