Check the wire connections, the fuse, and test the motor to see if it works.

If the rear washer motor runs then the fuse is good. More likely than not,
its the relay inside the cluster switch (just fixed this same problem on my
90 GXL). Get a new switch or rebuild yours. The only **** it needs to work
again is a bit of $$ - lol.

I've got a similar problem, but the rear wipers seem to work intermittently (no particular pattern). Cleaning the contacts, which separate when you open the rear hatch, seems to help...

Anyone know what voltage you are supposed to get at the rear wiper? I get about 12vdc with it in the ON position and it cycles about 1.75vdc with it in the Intermittent position....My rear wiper no worky though I assume the motor is bad but enlighten me please.

Mine didn't work either and I was told to check the ground wires they have a tendency to come loose with the normal opening and closing of the hatchback.

Ok, so now my windscreen wiper doesn't work in intermittent anymore either...

Is there anywhere else that it's possible to get the relays other than from Mazdamark and Mazda? I've tried getting in contact with them, but judging from the lack of resonse, I'm guessing that they're not interested in shipping to the other side of the world

Anyone have any other solutions? I was thinking of pulling the relays apart, cleaning the contacts and sealing them using epoxy glue... Is that likely to help in the long run?

Cheers,
- TT
