Rear Wheel bearing- Timken vs. Mazda

I have a rear wheel bearing that needs replacing, so I ordered one for $100+ from mazdatrix. I then realized its way cheaper to get a timken, so I got two timkens with the intention of returning the Mazda bearing. Upon receiving them, the Mazda bearing requires less than half of the effort to turn as the Timken. Is this normal?
