rear view mirror help

ok so I took my rear view mirror off to get the sunroof off and now im trying to get the rear view mirror back on. it was fine before I took it off. when putting the mirror on its plate (under the clear/yellow plastic piece) it is not being held on by any thing. I put the two screws in and they dont hold it. im not talking about the mirror its self with the one screw in it. the only thing that looks like it chould hold it is a little hook on the arm of the mirror. but when I put on the car it dose not hold it.

I searched and the only thing they said was the little screw on the back of the mirror. any help whould be great.

did you take the screw out of the back of the mirror or un-bolt the arm from the mounting bracket???

Your description is not real clear

there should be 4 screws holding the piece to the roof.

2 screws should be there. mine had those plastic washers that thread onto the screw to keep it from backing out. there should be 2 pre drilled holes to thread the screw into the roof.

I have all four screws for it. the short ones that go in the back and the two long ones that go in to the two holes next to the mirror plate. the problem is that when it gets put on the car nothing is touching the bracket for the mirror and it falls down. and I need to know if any thing holds the bracket there. the two long screws that go next to the bracket go all the way down to the bottom of the plastic plate.

i may be having a duh moment... but i think mine just screws together. look around your floor board and under the seats for another piece that may have fallen.

your mirror shouldn't be removed from the mounting bracket, it should be one piece. If I understand what your saying right then that should be your problem.

If you can't find a way to get the mirror onto the bracket then yeah I guess you will. I'll play around with mine a little bit today to see if I could give you more info.

YOu just have it un-clipped. It snaps back in. It is designed to come apart like that in case someone hits it in an accident.

all i can tell you to do if the OEM brackets etc arent working is rig up somethin to hold it together. drill a small hole and thread a bolt and nut through it to hold it in place.
