rear secondary injector trouble
rear secondary injector trouble
1991 n/a non turbo rx7
i got the code 73 rear secondary injectors, I am new working with injectors, so i got a multimeter to check the resistance
the red injector towards the front bumper has a reading of 14.0 and there is continuity
the rear red injector reads 24.0 and there is no continuity so i am guessing its not receiving a signal at all
could i still drive the car untill i find a replacement, it does shake a lot when i go on the freeway but only when im on high revs but this is when I noticed there was a problem
a mechanic told me to not waste my money on cleaning them because it will not fix it, therefore just replace it for a good resistance injector

i removed the upper intake manifold to make sure all my injectors are reading the correct reading and they do, i put everything back together and now the car won't stay on, and now the only code i get is 73 so im guessing now the car won't stay on with only 1 injector not working. it was working fine 2 days ago.
so i guess i answered my own question
so i guess i answered my own question
no, the car will run fine until about 6300RPMs where it will then begin to hit a wall when it runs severely lean.
the issue you're having now with the car not running is something you created when you removed the manifold, which is not necessary to get to the secondary injectors.
if an injector ohms out at 24ohm then it is trash and needs to be replaced, unless you tested it through the engine harness at the ECU which may or may not tell you anything except that the whole circuit is having an issue and may simply be a wiring problem.
