WA rear iron, f***ed i think

ok so i have been in the process of doing a rebuild and when cleaning my parts i discovered this,

rear iron, f***ed i think-shit.jpg

part of the lip that of the iron is missing. it almost looks as if it rusted away. its at the very bottom of the iron, and if i remember right, the coolant seal was messed up right there.

so basically my question is, this is not supposed to be like this right? and what should i do to fix it, or should i just replace it? im assuming i should replace it.

thanks for any help

It probably was about to start inflicting damage. Fortunately (well, not really) the seal was still keeping the water out. Water corrosion causes it. Perhaps in the past the engine sat for long periods of time with bad coolant mixes.

You need to get another NA rear iron. Fortunately they are really easy to find used.

I was prepared to give them away... nobody wants the 6 port irons. I just got lucky and found a guy that not only wanted them, he was local and could pick them up.

Win^2
