I found the pump on ebay for half the price of the stock pump. But I know what you mean. I'm looking for a fuel regulator, and corisponding gage, to help. I also found a E6X ECU for about half the usual price. With those mods I should be able to actually get something out of the pump.
As for basic tune-ups, thats the first thing I was looking at, but it wouldn't even run without a pump.

unless you really plan on making serious power you wasted your money on the Walbro.....It will cost you more now and take more work just to get it running stock because of it, and our fuel systems can handle a good amount of power. I could be wrong, but I think I recall seeing people running a fuel management system and bigger injectors off the stock pump. See--thats where you went wrong....no matter how much gas the pump feeds the system, your injectors and ech are only designed to flow at a stock rate, so the increased fuel pressure doesnt help you one bit. IMHO you shold have gotten it right before you spent the cash on that exhaust and intake. mine is completely stock right now, and I am going to do a rebuild and port over the winter. Then once I have that tuned right it will get a custom supercharger setup installed. But before all that happens I will get the new struts and clutch. I already have the tires, brakes, fluids, filters, hoses, wipers, and lots of little things done to it. Here's a saying for you:

FAST
CHEAP
RELIABLE

NOW--pick two of the above, because you cannot have all three

This is my car. Picked it up for 600. All it needed was a fuel pump....if it comes up.
