rear ends....

i have a 88 gxl right now thats smnashed up in the front end am im gonna be picking up another 88 but its got a blown engine and its automatic...i plan on taking the engine and tranny out of the 1 i have now...my question is will it be real noticable if i dont change out the rear ends...im pretty much gonna keep it stock besides exhaust and other little bolt on stuff...should i go through the trouble of swapping the rear ends too

Youll notice better fuel mileage but a lack in overall acceleration. Im not exactly certain as to what the rear end rations were but if you wanted just swap the pumpkins out while your doing the engine move and all that.

the pumpkins?...does that kjust mean take out liek all the gears in the rear end...sry if i dont knwo what you mean...and someone told me an 88 gxl is supposed to have lsd..i was driving around in the snow the other day and notcied only 1 tire was spinning

Well by pumpkin I mean the rear end in general. Your GXL may have had or still does have teh lsd but it may be shot at this point in its life.

antoher question i had...i read somewhere if your putting the manual tranny in an orgianlly automatic car that you would have to make custom mounts?
