Hmm... rear end shaking.. Did you just feel the groove?? Maybe your stereo was playing some heavy latino dance music and you just had to bust a move?
As for the thumping noise. It's probably your wallet or your keys in your pocket. Never ***-dance with things in your pockets.

Not the diff mount - I've driven with 2 busted ones on 2 different 7s. A broken front diff mount will *not* make the rear end shake.

If he's really unlucky, it might be the differential mounts and u-joints. x_x I need to repair my diffierential mounts soon... They're busted.

when the bushing in the spindle go bad you can litterally move the rear tire around like side to side.. and when you are in the gas you cannot feel it b/c the force on the tire keeps it strait but when you let off the gas or shift the *** end walks or shakes you can call it.. the reason i know this is b/c my new car is doin it.. and i have the spindle just to lazy to put it on..

Which bushings are you referring to? There are two different bushings in the rear hub assembly. There is a bushing at the front of the hub, which is the DTSS or rear steer bushing. The other bushing that uses a pillow ball is at the top of the hub. There is also a bushing at the bottom of the hub, but I believe that it's a solid bushing, which is unlikely to cause any problems.

there are 3 bushing that hold the spindle on.. where those go bad you get lots of vibration.. look on your car.. the spindle is held on with 3 bolts.. there is a bushing surrounding all the bolts.. thats **** goes bad and vibration is what you get.. and it makes noise too.. the metal on metal from when the spindle hits..
