rear end conversions help

rear end conversions help

last time i left off i told the great people of this forum that my n/a blew. so im going t2 with that said i have everything but a rear end so i have a quick ? will a fd rear end and axles work in the fc?

They have completely different differential housings. The FC's has "wings" for rear mounts, and FD's do not. The FC's front mount is to the rear subframe, while the FD's is mounted to the powerplant frame.

It isn't too hard or expensive to find a T2 diff and axles, I think I spent around 200 for mine.

Yeah and you can install a FD LSD into a TII pumpkin.

Actually, the FD rear does have "wings".
You're right about the PPF though.

The FD pinion is shorter, so I think the "snout" is shorter.
Thus, the driveshaft length is different.

The rear track is wider, so I'd imagine the half shafts would be different.

Bottom line is that it doesn't swap over.
Get a Turbo II drivetrain, and it'll all fit.
