rear end

does anyone know how much power the rear end can take (torque and horse) on the 13b turbo model?

prolly as much as you can dish out... the mounting bushings/bracket for the rear diff will break if you get more than it can handle.

Sure, if you're running 165 wide tires back there and trying to launch the car on slick ice?

There are just too many variables to just blurt out an answer like "431hp at the wheels", cause that 's just insane.

It's actually torque that breaks drivetrain parts.

Are you drag launching on 10.5" slicks banging off the rev limiter on a 2-step?

If I remember right, people with V8 swaps are keeping the turbo rear end, so I think it can take about anything a rotary can put out.

as Ted said, there are MUCH more important factors to that then just HP

I could pop one of those diffs with a stock motor after a couple of years of hard launching with a pair of 275's on the back......

If you friend wants to slap a supra motor in a 7 and doesn't have these basic concepts of drivetrains down....he might be in over his head

edit: search the single turbo sections and other conversion sections and find guys with big HP number, send out some PM's and see what the yrun for a diff.......that might yield a better answer then "how much wll the rear end take"

if it's an s4 clutch type then I have personally seen those stand up to 500whp engines and repeated hard launches on drag radials. But that one was also freshly rebuilt.

Why would you want to put a 2jz in a RX? Find a beat Supra, fix it up and put the motor in that.

Daily street driving on street tires?
The rear tires will spin.

If you're going to be doing serious drag launching at the track trying to nail that 10-second pass, it'll explode around 400hp.
