rear differential

how hard and how long does it take to drop a diff out of an n/a rx7 ?

If anything id say it be as hard as unboltin a rear end out of a Chev or some ****...probably harder because its not a hotchkiss floating rear end though.

Depends on your skill and competency level, i dropped the rear end outta my Monte Carlo in about an hour or so...but all you gotta do for that is unbolt the control arms n little ****.

You just have to unbolt a link, pull a couple of bolts, disconnect 4 bolts on the drive shaft, and lower (not remove) the subframe.

If it takes a decent shade tree mechanic more than an hour to drop the diff assembly I would be surprised.

I would consider myself a "decent shade tree mechanic" and I did it in less than a hour, with the haynes repair by my side, when I replaced the diff bushing on my TII, now I'll be dropping it again this weekend to tear it open to see why it screaming...

It's not overwhelming but it is heavier than I thought.
