Rear Caliper Removal

I feel really stupid in asking such a question, but I am tryin gto remove the rear calipers so I can clean and paint them. I have everything off except the ebrake cable, well the cable is loose and the end is not connected to the spring thingy. How do I get the rest of it off??

Mines leaking and i also need to take mine off..
When you take them off do you need to rebleed all your brake lines again?

check the FSM, it shouldn't be too hard to slide off. Im not sure off the top of my head if there's a lock nut holding it on, but some WD40 might loosen it up a bit. Also, only do one caliper at a time, that way you have the other one to reference when you put it back together.

The end of the cable terminates at a "T" almost. Grab this end with a pair of needle nose pliers, and pull it out of the calipers bracket. Does that make sense?

the haynes manual is pretty useful for brake-jobs.

Like I said, I asked a stupid question... The T part of the cable was not a problem, it was the where it connected to the brakect. My brakes are just dirty and corroded to hell, so I decide to get a little curious with a screwdriver and it poped right out.

Yeah my Haynes Manual was MIA and I just found it right after remvoing them. Some luck, huh?

haha yeah I borrowed my friend's haynes manual, and it got lost in like 20 minutes...after like 30 minutes of looking it was just sitting right there under something. I swear those things are alive. Good luck with the rest of your brake stuff,
Ben
