Rear Brake Pad V-Spring

I have a quick v-spring question. Is the spring supposed to go facing a certain direction? Does it matter? It looks like the FC manual shows it on the leading end of the pads. I just wondered if it matters.

Ignore my ninja edits, I was getting confused looking at the pictures for a second.

Makes sense to me, if the leading edge is sprung the rest of the pad will trail away, while if you spring only the trailing edge the leading edge will lever back towards the rotor and the edge could catch, especially if you have slotted rotors.

That said, I've been running my car on the track and street for like 7 years now and never even knew the rears were supposed to have springs, and have had no problems.

Yep, that's kinda what I was thinking too. I don't want the fronts of the pads to bite into the rotor and cause a problem. I dunno if they would but I suppose they could. I'll have to pull off the calipers and see which way I put mine on. I know I wanted to put them so the fronts of the pads would pull away from the disc but I think it slipped my mind while I was trying to get that little spring on.
