Rear Axle Question

Well yesterday I was driving my T2 and I was turning left from a stoplight and it felt like my drivers side rear tire went over a bump. I though nothing of it and kept going on my way. A few minutes later when i was on my way home, it felt like that same rear wheel was going over bumps again when all my other wheels werent. It almost felt like that one wheel was going over lane dividers when all the others werent. So I took off the wheel and jacked up the car and I saw that the boot on the diff side of the axle was cut, and a lot fluid had been spun out of it. So basically my question is what I need to replace, and what all could have gotten screwed up from the boot getting cut.

you need a new left inner CV joint. you can buy just that one joint but it is easier to just buy a whole new axle with both the inner and outer joints already attached.

That was the first thing I checked

Plus I figure it has to be related to the CV boot being cut in some way right?

If you dont have a bad tire, then just replace the axle and see if it fixes your problem. It needs to be done anyways if the boot is shot.
