i'm new to rx-7s, and i was curious if it was possible to get a 2+2 or 5 seat configuration in the second gen model. and if it was something like a rare option, and i found a good used rx-7 that has 2 seats, would it be possible to create 2 rear seats? any other help or info i should know about before buying one of these (i was thinking of an 87 or 88 turboII with a manual transmission) would be greatly appreciated. these seem like great cars, and i would really like to get to know more about them. thanks

Mazda did make 2+2 seating for 2nd gen RX-7s. No 5 seat( are you kidding, theres no room) But good luck fitting anybody comfortly back there.

 

like all sports cars with 2+2 it is more like 2+1.5

 

I'd rather have the bins than try and squeez someone back there. Unless you have a midget or small child.

Yeah it would look like a clown car with four people in an RX-7 has anyone ever really done this. I have rode in the back seat of a supra and it was really tight and those cars are huge boats to.
