Really odd

i have an 88 n/a and the car runs great. i just got it tuned out,tps timing and such, but when i shut the car off and come back to drive it again, i noticed a fresh spot of oil on the ground. I looked for a path but couldnt find one and when i opened the hood i noticed a film of oil on the pullies?!?!? Now im really confused. Is my baby going to die?

thanks in advance for your help.

you'll need to look right under the car and find the leak...
I would recommend checking the lines for the oil cooler, they are prone to failure

yeap if it is on the belts, I would look at oil cooler lines or fittings.

Get a flashlight and a inspection mirror. Look directly into the front pulley bolt area. It should be bone dry. If there is oil there, see if the front pulley bolt is loose.

Another area that leaks oil is the omp lever. The lever has a o'ring. After fifteen plus years it wears and will leak oil drops. Look at the omp. It should be bone dry and the oil lines on the omp should not be leaking a drop.

helps if u clean off the old oil first..when the car is cold.....spray some carb or engine cleaner to dissolve the oil first...so when u come back the place with the most oil would/should be what ur lookin for

DO NOT Try to tighten it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a process for reseating the bearings for the "end play" (search for "End play") The Roller pin bearings fall or slide downward when that big 19mm Eshaft bolt is loosened. You need to take the front cover off in order to VERIFY that the roller pin bearing is properly postioned.

IF YOU TIGHTENED that 19mm already there is a huge chance that you crushed this bearing.
