really need a Writeup for changing seats.

Hey everyone, I have some aftermarket seats I want to put in by saturday and I cant find any writeups on this at all, i've been searching for the last hour. All I know is that I need to modify the stock brackets by drilling holes into it, and as easy as that sounds you never know. So If anyone has any links to a write up let me know please, Thanks!

Not necessarily... in order to just drill holes in the stock brackets and go, you'd have to have seats that have the mounting studs same distance apart as the originals AND the new seats couldn't be much wider or they would not fit due to the center console/tranny tunnel. Your best bet is to either get some custom brackets welded up or measure the distance between the studs and find a bracket that will fit. I think most aftermarket seats will take a recaro style bracket. Mine did with a bit of additional drilling/fitment.

I actually sold my seats with the brakets to another member of this forum because I'm a tall guy and I couldn't really fit in the car with those. The stock turbo seats sit much lower.

(As soon as we fixed one alignment problem another hole would get mis-aligned XD) Well ill get pics tommorw and hopefully have better luck with the passengers side.

Update: Got the passenger side in, We thought it would be harder, but it was almost a perfect fit, 99%. We had to bore very little on one of the brackets and that was all. However we didnt even think of the spacers, so the way it is now it should be opposite, but its fine and that i will save for another day. I will get pics of it tommrow.(11:40 pm right now)

I'm going to make brackets myself. I'm extra tall and sitting the seat damn near to the ground works pretty well for me. I managed to get my seat actually attached to the seat rails with a little bit of grinding on the seat bracket. But I'd rather have the seat practically in the spare tire bin, so I'm going to weld up some brackets when I get unlazy. Which will probably be never, so I'll probably end up putting the original seats back.
