my friend has a nice reactive filter off his FD. I'm thinking about buying it from him and getting a custom tid to it. Anybody have a reactive filter on their FD? This one isn't one of those ones that look like a hks SS bov, it's longer and has a better design (to me at least). It's a normal cone filter but has a carbon fiber air dam around it.

 

Hmmm I dunno. I would rather buy a NEW K & N filter.

i have the one that looks like a BOV on my car. I dont think any of those filters are really better than any other. The only proof ive seen is a test some company did on the most popular filters. Apperantly the Apex and the K&N are 1 and 2 as far as air flow and cleaning go but the apex is like 60 bucks more than the K&N.

 

are u talking about RACTIVE?! if u are..dont do that..they are cheap ****..lik apc..cheap studd man...wouldnt go with that..heat shield sounds lik bullshit to me on those..they are lik 20 bucks..i think my friend actually has one if u want to buy it..but i wouldnt

 

I haven't had any problems with mine, got the same exact one. Course how would you know if something was wrong it being an air filter? Seems to be fine though. Yeah I dunno if the heat shield really does anything right now but I got it because it's got the lip you can hook a hose to for cold air if you have room (or buy their hose for $80, what a rip) which I will when I go standalone.

 

If your looking for performance thats not the filter for you. That filter kinda compares to APC stuff A Peice a Crap.

 

DUDE NO, dont use that ****, there absolute crap, i had one on my accord for a long *** time and it just starved my engine for air. I switched to the k&n and its a lot better cuz it has a lot more surface area to take air in. Those RACTIVE's are crap because they restrict the air going into the filter. IM just telling you from personal experience.

I like the idea that they are a heat shield unit.
I can hook it to a ram air source without having to build a custom cold box.
I read the gripes above, but have not actually seen one.
So who sells them?
