Re-routing coolant hose on tb.....

Ok can I reroute the coolant hoses off of the TB? What I mean is eliminate the flow of coolant through the TB and just have a hose that goes through the backside of the IM's? I don't have the TB mod done yet so will this make my secondary plates stay closed?

Some guys cap all of the coolant ports at the housings, some guys route the rear side housing nipple back to the water pump housing, there are arguments for & against...Personal preference...

Correct, plus the thermowax will stay engaged so your idle will be permanenetly high.

I know it sounds crazy, but why not just leave it working the way it's supposed to and have a decent cold idle?

Those secondary plates would remain open if you just disconnect the air hose from the actuator that closes them when the car is running. Just be sure to plug up the hole with something or you'll have an intake leak.

And you can take the TB off and just take the spring off the thing that's on the cam that the thermowax controls. That will render the thermowax completely inoperative and your idle will be permanently not-high.

You might be able to get to that spring without removing the TB, I'm not sure.

But then you'll be taking the TB off anyway if you're re-routing those hoses so nevermind!

Jason I wasn't trying to remove them. I was just asking if I could because I was in a pinch last night with a leaky coolant hose. But it all worked out and I retained the flow through the TB.
