How do I hook up my a/f gauge

OK ,I know, I will get a wideband in the future, but for now this will do. Does anyone have or can they do a write up on how to install an air/fuel guage on my s4 Tii. Including what color wires do what and go where.

Well, if you got one of the common three wires, the black wire is a ground, so find a part of the frame to put it, the red is power, you can hook it up to any wire that turns on with the ignition, use a test light to find one under the steering column or one used for the stereo. The purple is the signal wire, splice it into your oxygen sensor wire. OR, you can get a wiring diagram for your ECU, and hook all three wires up to their appropiate spots at the ECU.

Don't connect to the shielded O2 sensor wiring in the engine bay; you have about a 50/50 chance of screwing it up and grounding the whole signal though the wire shield. Always connect at the ECU where the wire is unshielded.
