Question Re-installed tranny, no more back-up lights...

This is on a '90 NA. I'm thinking that the only possible thing could be the two bullet type connectors that are both the same color coming out of the tranny. I couldn't tell the difference between them. Are they crossed maybe? or just bad connections(the female side of the plugs were a little corroded) ? Also, does anyone know where a little ground looking wire with a box shaped resister on the end goes? The box is like 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch by 1/4 inch, with a tab on one edge that has a bolt hole in it. I'm not sure what bolt it connects to. It's also located near the starter when hanging down, but the harness it comes from points more upward and backward than down. Can anyone enlighten me on either of these subjects?

the connectors don't matter... just plug them up... the tranny has a switch that acts as a continutity switch... just plug everything backup

I did plug everything back up. The no reverse lights is what I ended up with. What I wanted to know was, the two identical looking wires coming from the tranny with bullet type connectors, are they the same? Does it matter which plugs they go into? If they are the same my connectors are probably bad, if they aren't they are in the wrong plugs maybe? I still haven't figured out where that box shaped ground wire went either BTW, the reason I'm asking is that I don't want to go making near permanant connections before knowing if they are right or not. Thanks for any info guys.

Switch the connectors....check wires for breaks......double check bulbs....
If it was working before and not now, then its a good chance you over looked something.

dvls-7, I'll check it that way, I just wondered if it would cause problems having them swapped(blown fuses, shorts, etc.)? Nice avatar there too
