RE ECU Wiring question...

Does anyone here know how to trick the stock RE ECU to "think" that the auto tranny is connected?

The JC 13B-REW ECU doesn't have any control over the auto gearbox, and doesn't even know if one isn't connected. The gearbox has a seperate ECU.

Ok, NZ... so I am just double checking because if I am correct I will start my swap this Wednesday (my next day off from work...) I have the N390 that came with my 1995 JC 13BREW. So, everything that I have read during the searches saying that the stock ECUs for the JC Cosmo engine wont work w/o the auto tranny is wrong and I will be ok with the stock ECU as long as I rewire the Body wiring harness for my FC? Thanks for the help...

A mate of mine had a 2-rotor JC Cosmo that he swapped an FC 5-speed into. He did nothing at all to the engine ECU and it ran exactly as it did before. Not even any ECU error codes.

The 3-rotor ECU is a different story because it controls both the engine and gearbox. It takes a bit of work to convince the ECU nothing is missing. I know someone who's done this too.

So you have the harness for the JC ECU?

Yes, I have the harness and the N390... the only thing that I dont have is the body electrical harness... but I know that if I can just get the plug, I could splice it easily with my FC harness...
