RE-Amemiya Dolphin Tail Titan Muffler

Here's a picture of this exhaust. I can't read Japanese & I wanted to know if an exhaust like this (which cost $1688 US) is actually worth it. According to it's name I'm assuming it's made out of titanium. There's also another price for it & that one says $1875 US. If anyone knows alot more knowledge about this exhaust I will definitely like to hear more about it. Thanks

My personal opinion is that no exhaust system is worth that much money. You can get a complete true dual system from RB for a good bit less.

Same thing I was saying, then again RE-Amemiya is catered for the Rotary market & many of their products are expensive . . . . $920+ for an Aluminum radiator

$511 for the Aluminum Pulley Kit

$1703 for FC3S Brembo Kit

I agree, way too much for an exaust. All an exaust really is is a bunch of pipe, and a muffler. Maybe I'm just thrifty, but I'd rather spend $1,800 on a well built and ported engine.

It's a bit expensive, but if it you are hardcore in racing, it's not bad.
It's full titanium which means its EXTREMELY light. You can probably hold onto the whole exhaust with just one hand. It's also extremely durable.

Try doing that with the true dual. You are probably shaving 60lbs.
Also, you can't really tune the exhaust with true dual. You get good midrange, but thats about it. You won't be able to benefit from the scavanging effect from a collected exhaust.

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, you can get the JIC titanium exhaust for a bit less.

Cheers.

ANYTHING R.E.A. you're paying for the name.
No, it doesn't perform 3x better at 3x the price.

NZ and AU guys use a brand that makes mufflers that look exactly like that. I think the name is Dytech racing.

1700 for a front and rear brembo kit!!! dam thats a good deal. esspecially with floating calipers. i mean dam my wrx kit from brembo is over 2k just for front. its about 1800 from stoptech for front. so for 4 floating rotors and brembo calipers ites deffinatly worth it!.

A little? More like half the cost for a 10 lb. 80mm full titanium exhaust.

You're paying for the JAY DEE EHM, and not much else.

Judging from the Dynograph they published at Mazdatrix their True Dual Setup peaked power at 7k rpm and it was a steady climb up the rpm range.

I know that weight savings is important but 60 pounds is 0.021% of your car's weight.

optionally, you can buy your own pipe. That tends to save money and weight if you make a good investment.

Okay so something on the site is actually worth it. ut I know I'll have to shoot myself before I buy any $912 Aluminum Radiator

snub dispenoid, you're right that's all you're paying for is the fact that it's JDM

You guys are absolutely right. Alot of these "performance" parts are not cracked up to what their believe to be that's why I'm inquiring about it.

If it weren't so expensive, I'd love to have this exhaust. I just don't think the gains justify the cost for a street car.

One of the things that I do like about the RE-Amemiya exhaust because how it point towards the floor vs straight out.

Main advantage to titanium? Notice that im holding it with 3 fingers. This is a catback for the FD, but you still get the idea.
