Re-Amemiya AFM

Hello Gentlemen,

New to this forum but not to rotaries.

Anyhow I have a question that I don’t know the genuine answer to and that is my reason for joining today. So here goes; has anyone heard of a Re-Amemiya AFM for a 89-91 TII? I know someone stationed in Japan and he tells me that there is, he says that it is supposed to bolt in and yield 10-12 more hp. He told me that it is just a 20b AFM with a Re-Amemiya sticker on it has anyone else heard of this?

Sounds similar to what people do with the 636 AFM's over here. If you are to the point in your mods that the AFM is limiting your power output, you NEED to get rid of the stock computer and get something that uses a MAP or hotwire AFM.

The stock AFM's will peg out pretty quickly.

Agreed. I have 4 years worth of RE-A catalogs sitting here in front of me and it isn't in any of them.

He probably means the Redom ECU, which is an upgraded stock ECU with a sticker on it.

It is not worth bothering with. The stock RX-7 AFM is good for at least 400bhp, at which point a speed-density standalone EMS would be a better option than a slightly larger AFM coupled to the horribly outdated stock ECU.
