RB torque brace uses/limitations

i've searched through and found quite a bit about it, but nothing that answered my two questions...

1. would this be adequate to reinforce stock tranny mounts (with several k miles on them), sort of like a pinion snubber is to the front diff mount?

2. if i were to install one in my car now, with (as far as i can tell) completely toasted tranny mounts, would it stiffen up everything as if the mounts were in better shape, or will it not do anything for me w/o the better mounts?

i can't tell from the picture whether or not it provides rigidity in both direction, right and left, or just one. also, could it be damaged if installed in a vehicle with poor transmission mounts? i don't plan on leaving it that way for long, just until i have time to drop in the rebuilt transmission i have. i'd like to have it one there permanently to save the mounts, but i'm curious if there would be any advantage to going ahead and installing one now?

Yes the torque brace will help out with worn out trans and engine monuts BUT, your old monuts are still bad and should be replaced. As an alternate suggestion, I installed the competition engine and trans mounts and they are great! It will fix the root problem, stiffen the whole engine and trans mounting, get rid of the too soft feel of sotck mounts (even when they are new), and they still dampen vibration unlike the poly mounts lots of guys run. They are available thru Mazdatrix and probably other places too. I changed all of mine in the turbo and they are great. They are also slightly cheaper than stock mounts too.

yeah, i meant to say that i have new (relatively) stock mounts with the tranny i'm waiting to put in. however, they do have several thousand miles, will the torque brace save them from further damage? also, again, the brace wouldn't be damaged by attaching it to a car that doesn't have good mounts if i install it before the tranny/newer mounts?
