Question RB Road Race Header..?

Does anyone have this complete exhaust system on their car yet..?

http://racingbeat.com/FRmazda2.htm

I need a new exhaust system for my 90 but do NOT want it to be loud. I'm trying to tone down my exhaust. If anyone is currently running this system how does the exhaust note soundconsidering it's going on a dailydriver...?

Ok... tax check time is here. And I am going to get a new exhaust for my 90GTU. I posted back in July asking if anyone had the Road Race System yet... but no answers probally since it had just came out.

Has anyone since purchased this system...? Or, has anyone heard how this system sounds...? If so, how is the exhaust tone...? I do NOT want my car to be loud.

Thanks to anyone who replies.

I don't own that exact system, but I do own a Mazdatrix true dual system, which is all Racing Beat stuff. It's basically the same thing as that system, but it uses two presilencers instead of that single muffler as the middle section.

As far as noise goes, your car will not be cruise-in-neutral loud, but if you wind it out on a busy road, you'll get a lot of looks (half because of the sound, half because of the sheer volume). For everyday driving it's not very loud and from the cabin I have to say that it's quieter than my collected full exhaust. However, when I step on it, I do notice that my car is LOUD, and this is with stock ports, exhaust diffusers and all.

Another thing to note is that you car won't sound like an RX-7 until about 4,000 rpm. Under that, you'll hear a very low-pitched burble come from the exhaust. The reason for this is that the exhaust never collects, so the sound coming from each exhaust pipe is the individual exhaust pulses from each rotor. It doesn't sound bad at all. Nobody complains about the tone of my exhaust, in fact everyone like it - however, nobody has been able to really explain to me what my car sounds like.

I'm pretty much worried about getting tickets. My exhaust system now is completly intact and doesn't need to be changed, however I HATE the abrupt loudness it has for a everyday driver... and it cost me almost $700 cat back. If I drop $1200 for RB and I hate the tone also that would REALLY SUCK. Thanks for the reply.

The exhaust doesn't seem like anything you'd get a ticket over. It has a mellow enough tone to not have cops all over you. If you're unsure, you could go with a quieter, collected exhaust setup.
