Rb Fc Springs Question

Why are the RB springs sold for a T2 not for a vert? The shocks are the same...what makes the springs any different...do they use a heavier rear spring or something? Does it really matter....

The "coupe" springs are calibrated/tuned for the coupe weight.&nbsp The weight of a convertible is different/heavier.&nbsp Thus a lot of manufacturers don't recommend running them on the vert...

I guess the different weight might throw off the front / rear balance? it might lower it a tad more then the listed amount.

Thanks guys for the comments!

I didn't do it with Racing Beat, but I did install Tokiko 5 ways with Eibach Pros (Turbo II) springs. The front did lower than the back, but the car handled great. I autocrossed it with this set-up for 3 years.

Here's 2 pics of what it looked like with 15 inch wheels and 225/50-15 tires:

A pic with the stock wheels can be seen at www.manual7.com (new owner's site).

Was there a reason why you didn't go with RB?

By the way, thanks for the response.

It was a package deal. A guy was selling them brand new (decided to go with coilovers). The shocks & springs assembled with the struts cost me $550 shipped .

The Eibachs go from the stock rate to double as they compress. It was a good balance between street ride and autocross handling.

i like those wheels go speed go. look like vert wheels with the middles powdercoated. i was thinking bout doin mine in black with silver outsides. i think that would look pimp tight.

The wheels came off a mid 90's Camry Limited edition. They're 15x7, 40mm offset, exact hub bore, and weighed ~15lbs. I found them at a flea market for $100 for the set . They were a little rough, but I only wanted them for autocrossing .
