^That looked like oil and condensation coming out of the exhaust. BTW, it sounds great!

What do you mean uneven?

Uneven as in one side sits down more then the other? I'm quite a large guy :P

Uneven as in more smoke comes from one side then the other? Well, I didn't notice that when I made the vid 3-4 months ago, and the engine is blown right now :-P Perhaps the left muffler goes up to the rear rotor? Thats the one that's blown. :-P

Meh, I complained about the same thing when I got mine. The plus: The car looks 100x better.

I just had a header & pre-silencer installed on my 87, but left the existing y-pipe & mufflers. I did this, because the cats were all rusted out, full of holes & basically inoperable, but the mufflers were still in good shape.

This has made a significant change in power & exhaust tone on my car. I wonder what shape your converters are in...

im not sure, the last cat (im not sure exactly what its called) seems to be new because it was welded straight to the [old] Y pipe, so im guessing that one is ok, but maybe the others are shot?

how many cats are there?
which has the air-splitter thing?
can i just run one high-flow cat and ditch the rest?
and if i do that will i get any backfires? (a must)
and how would i go about replacing them?

No, If you want flames from afterfires you must loose all cats.

you will get louder backfires, possibly even small flames, if you remove the cats and make it straight pipe. keep in mind that the CA fines are pretty hefty for not having a cat. the split air tube goes into the main cat right before the 'y' pipe.

Sry for the off topic but what differences will I get if I replace my cat in my rb setup with a presilencer, such as power, throtel response. Tome, etc.

The presilencer is the reason Racing Beat exhausts sound the way they do. The mufflers BARELY play a role in the sound game with Racing Beat.

You will most likely have a bit more power, not so much in an NA, but spool time in a turbo will decrease noticeably.

The sound will be UBER sexy.

I've only heard racing beat header+mufflers with a cat online, so I can't answer that one. I would think they would be a little bit more. But the entire setup, header, presilencer, and mufflers altogether are NOT all that loud. So..it's not something to worry about.

From: We're all fine here now, thank you. How are you?

Search under High Performance Exhaust here.

http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda2.htm

Or check out the Bonez system here.

http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/fcexhaust.html

You can mix and match to make whatever system you want. Get a header, high flow main cat (if you are worried about smog) or a presilencer (if you aren't worried about smog) and then you will feel a power increase.

Don't worry about the sound to much, my friend has RB header with XR-1 silencer with aftermarket mufflers (don't know the type but they look like RB ones.) His system is actually quieter than mine at idle and low RPM cruise, but has a deeper bass tone when he accelerates. It sounds awesome. You'll enjoy.
