Rare RX-7 ???
i have a question. i have an 88 rx7 gxl. it was made in october of 1988. this car does not have the silonoid resistor on the passenger side strut tower or anywhere on the motor that i can find. also it does not have the ecu under the seat it is under the dash on the drivers side. i was told that this was a limited number of cars that were made in 10/88. is this right? any info on any of this would be great.

There is the ECU and the CPU. The ECU controls engine management. This is on the passenger's side in front of the seat under the carpet.
The CPU controls things like horn, wipers, lights etc. This is on the driver's side under the dash near the foot rest.

There are no resister packs on the 88 and up models.
There was never a North American spec FC made with the ECU on the drivers side.
Perhaps you are confusing the CPU with ECU or PS computer with the ECU. Both the CPU and PSC are on the drivers side.
The 88 model year production ran from 07/87 to 12/88
