Its a GTUs which is more rare than a TurboII and some think its more desireable than a TII.

It doesn't say its a GTUs, but since it doesn't have a sunroof, I'm guessing it is. It also has the TII wheels which the GTUs came with.

That would explain his guess for it being a GTUs, But if that is the case he should put it in the for sale/wanted section.

the car on ebay is from west palm beach.

I think that is GTUs is because it has no sunroof, with 16" TII rims, and no rear wiper.

I can't believe that you guys have so many "NONE cents" comments. stupid!!!!!!!

It looks to be a GTUs based on no sunroof and the 16" mesh wheels

However, it certainly doesnt mean it is a GTUs either. Without the rims it could be a base. Plus theres no stickers on the side at all, I think even the base's say something like SE possibly not

My 88 SE doesn't have stickers on it.

They can always be removed. ALthough a FC without a sunroof is rare by itself.

i emailed that guy. no one bid on it and it just ended...the car is about 2 hours away from me.

how can you find out if its a GTU or GTUs?

It cant be an SE cuz they are 4 lug... and didnt the SE go out w/ the beginning of the S5... just like the GXL went out w/ the beginning of the S5... and the GTU became the base model? then the GTUs and then the T2?

besides, as far as i konw:

GTUs=
Aluminum hood
T2 brakes
T2 suspension
T2 body
No sunroof... evar.

GTU=
top of the line, heaviest, most luxurious.

T2=
GTUs w/ turbo?

No I believe all S5's were 5 lug.

Anyways, and S5 GTU is the base model, and a GTUs is the top NA model (of the series 5 that is).

GTU=
top of the line, heaviest, most luxurious.

Once again, in the series 4 models GTU was the best NA model (other than the 10th AE, but I question that).

And when the created the series 5, GTU became the base model.

right. also manual windows and stuff. and no rear wiper. and T2 mesh 16" wheels. the only NA with an LSD in Series 5 FC's

GTU=
top of the line, heaviest, most luxurious.
wrong. for series 5, GTU is the base model. Steel hood, Single piston front brakes. squishier suspension. manual windows and locks. no rear wiper.
T2=
GTUs w/ turbo?
not quite. the GTUs has all of the performance stuffs like the T2 (brakes, suspension, LSD etc), but the interior would be different. T2 would have power locks/windows, GTUs would not. GTUs would also not be leather interior.

the model you forgot is the GXL which is the heaviest NA and is the "luxury" model. it has 4 piston front brakes, heavier suspension, power junks inside, a rear wiper etc.

GXL, thats what it was... Sorry about the crazy old ignorance... ive been spending all my time working on Supras and DSM's the past 3 years...

but... its pretty safe to say that the car on Ebay was/is a GTUs... but, im not sure if theres a way to tellby the VIN or not... ill have to get ahold of the seller to find more details i guess.

Im probably gonna go buy this car. i called the guy, and i asked him questions and everything he told me pointed to this car being a GTUs.

White ext/Blue Int
No rear wiper
Crank windows
Manual locks
No sunroof

Im gonna go for a 4 hour drive saturday (assuming i get that day off) to go check it out, and im gonna take $800 w/ me cuz thats what he told me i could take it for. Ill know right away if has the Inflation sticker on the door that calls for 205 tires and the 4 piston calipers on the front and vented rotors in the rear... oh and ill try to see if it does 4000 @ 80mph in 5th too.

Im not worried about the damage cuz ive got a friend who can do soem body work and paint dat shizzle. Im probably just gonna fix-er up and restore it and keep it clean... its not gonna be my fast car by any means... just a back-up car when either of my Fast cars breakdown

Yo,

Cool man, go and get it! They're great cars. The sticker on the door should say:

205/55-16 for the tire.

Also, if it drives, take it up to 80mph in 5th, it should be right at 4,000rpm. (4.30 rear gears and special 5th.)

Good luck!
