Random Question : If ACV is bad ...

Can I just replace the 2 solenoids on it to fix it ? (other than buying it used)

What's there inside the ACV to fail other than the 2 Solenoids anyway?

Mine works fine, this is just a random question that comes up in my mind.

Thx

There's the Anti Afterburn valve which helps to prevents backfiring on deceleration.

The valve should be replaceable.

the two solenoids do almost nothing, the parts that go bad are the two diaphragms for the switching and the relief valves. they are removable easily, but Mazda only sells the valve as a complete unit, so actually fixing it means you need to be creative.

these two valves are actually what gets the air pump air to flow to different places as needed, which is basically what is used to lower emissions.
