MB Manual operation of 88 Vert top

Would someone be kind enough to tell me, and others, no doubt, how to manually operate the convertible top in the event of motor failure
Thank you

I have a link. It's copied right now. I could post it, but it literally took me 1 minute to type in a search for "manual convertible".

Go to the search button, when it drops down, click advanced search. Type "manual convertible" in the keywords. Select "Search Titles Only" (that really narrows it down, otherwise you'll get a lot of random stuff). Then on the right side under "search in forum(s)" select 2nd generation. Click search, and you'll find your answer. I just opened a wonderful world for you.

(Forgot to mention that I also own a convertible, and I know how to operate the top because I did the above)

Obviously you didn't. You're either not following instructions, or lazy. Either way:

3rd thread, 2nd post.

There.

Well, lazy I'm not, I eventually found the threads, after wading through all the posts there was one reference to bolts on the motors, so I am assuming these bolts have to be turned alternately to raise and lower ther top? I do not have a manual for my 88 vert but will start lookling for one. But thank you most sincerely for teaching me how to use the search function, I am really so grateful.

And if you use just do a little strategic searching (hint, stickies) you'll find a link to an on line version of the Factory Service Manual (FSM). In the online FSM you'll find the factory provided instructions on what to do open and close your top manually.

And, the more you search, the better your searching skills will be come, and the quicker you'll actually find answer to ANY question you might have about your RX7.

I found what I needed to know regarding getting the top up and down manually.
That search function is amazing. Thanks.
I could not find any reference to a product to clean and protect the top
fabric, a Google search yielded Ragg Top cleaner and protectant, what do my fellow verters here use?

Ragg Top is the absolute best. Make sure you get the vinyl version, not the fabric one
