random problem today. see if you can help

i fixed my broken bolt today, grounded my ECU, grounded my pressure sensor, and decided to go for a little drive.

well, once we got about a mile down the road, my car was randomly hesitating.

the idle jumped up to about 1800-2000 and if i touched the gas, the rpms would drop, and if i held the gas down, the car would go into "vrooom, fall... vroooom, fall... vrooom, fall..." mode. this makes the car very hard to drive and had to pull into a big nice neighborhood for a second and pull over. we look around in the engine bay for something i may have fucked up and didnt see anything that looked out of the ordinary. so we got b ack in the car.

the car drove fine all the way back to my house like nothing ever happened. what the hell? has this kind of thing happened to anyone else? i am ready to punch babies because of these random happenings.

I had that problem back this time last year. It would come and go so it was really hard to diagnose. Never did find out what was wrong, and it progressively got worse. Recently the car pegged at 4K and wouldn't rev faster. Seemed like it was just spinning dead weight. And now won't start at all...hope you have better luck.

didn't you already swap the TPS?

Makenzie71, mine is exactly like that now. plugs fouled out extremely easy. after wire brushing em i am able to start it. getting a new TPS, BAC and O2 sensor this week. wish me luck, i hope it fixes it.

Good luck...as soon as I get less cold and more warm weather I will be starting over with mine. Similar route too, if it doesn't work I got a 350 thats going to waste in my garage, and there's a six spd out there calling my name...

damn.. i guess this is more common than i thought.
no, i havent swapped TPS's.
