Ran at the track again

My car is a 1990 GTU

Here are the mods:
Racing beat downpipe & presilencer, K&N drop in filter, 16in racing rims(13lbs) w/kumho ecsta 712, KYB AGX shocks.

I made 9 runs but here are my best times of the nite

60ft-1/8-1/4

2.335-10.305@67.78-16.103@85.35

2.403-10.370@67.97-16.138@85.69

2.369-10.316@67.76-16.119@85.18

How can I better my times?

Does LSD help 1/4mile times?

Learn to launch and bring that 60ft time close to 2 sec.
weight reduction.

Get drag radials and learn how to launch them. Your times are nice and consistant, so You are doing something correct. Just remember to only change one thing at a time and you'll be fine.

The LSD might help you out if you start to have too much wheel spin. I read in a few racing books that 5-10% wheel spin yields the best acceleration.

What were your settings on your shocks?&nbsp Judging from your 60' times, you were getting pretty crappy launches or your shocks were all set on stiff.&nbsp When drag racing, I recommend setting your adjustable shocks to their softest/lowest settings!

Forgot to mention, that the downpipe and presilencer are connected to an N1 dual catback exhaust too.

RETd> my rear shocks were on 4 maybe I'll try a lower setting next time

breesj>drag radials huh? I'll look into those, how much time would they shave off anyway? How much will it drop my 60ft by? thanx

Don't know exactly, but they would help, if you can also get a set of skinnies for the front, you'd be ahead of the game. I'm pretty sure you can use the spares as the rims and just buy the tires, but I'm not sure since Some require tubes.

Anyway, have fun and keep on racing
