It Ran! Ahhhh!

Holy, the rotary gods were playin tricks with me today! Ok, here's the jist. I killed 4 batteries trying to get the damn car to run, and as I was about ready to give up and say to hell with it and put a 350 in it, ReTed and Jim-o suggest I swap out the plugs (odd since I bought them yesterday!) Anywho, sure enough, the damned car fired right up and actually idled at ~750(rough though it may be) I'm so happy my car actually did something normal for once! I might not sell it after all, wooooooooohooooooo!

It's 11PM and all I have is a RB downpipe, can we say askin for police? I'm just so happy it idled normally, and it starts up almost instantly now. Though, it did heat up like mad, I think I need a new thermostat.

Ahh well, I'm going to change out my trailing plugs and see if I can get it to rev more smoothly, it sort of dies out on me if I get on it hard, so I'll have to see what I can do. I'm so happy! Everything was working good from what I could tell, bov worked when I revved up, sounded good (well, as good as it can with a downpipe!)

Police? What police? Give em hell and have a look out. When the look out sees em, shut the car off and turn on another car that is real quiet and be like, Makeing too much noise? Me? How? You can't even hear this car idle. J/K. hehe. Congrats man.
Charles

P.S. We did that at a friends apartment, it was ssoo funny. Then we picked up this little mazda truck that was double parked and rotated it sides ways. We were hyper. Just got home from the street races that night and couldn't sleep. Happy reving.

Yeah, it needs a lot more tinkering to be running good, but I'm just so happy it runs at all. I was about ready to give up, I killed 4 batteries trying to get it to run, I saw the plugs from my 87NA sitting there, so I said what the hell, I'll do what Jim-o and ReTed suggested, and sure enough, the damn thing started up and was roaring away and didn't die. I stalled it a coulple times trying to ease off the accelerator to get it to idle, but my stop screw is set too low and it won't idle on it's own, so I had to jam a pop-can in the accelerator to get it to idle at 750rpm. I'm going to fix the tension tomorrow to get it around 1200 or so (new seals) and take it out for a spin and be gentle to her for the first 500 miles. I can't wait to begin!

Thanks, I can't wait to drive it, I'm so tempted to just run up to my garage and take it for a spin and say to hell with the neighbors!

Well, I'm kind of weary to drive it, I don't want to go breaking it now. Maybe I will just start it once a month to admire it and never drive it around?

So you are not selling the car anymore?!?!? Does that means that the engine you bought was in good condition?

Anyways, happy rotoring!!
