Radiator switch wiring
Radiator switch wiring
I assume it's called the radiator switch, referring to the sensor plug type thing that's in the lower drivers side of the radiator with two nipples on the end of it. I had to purchase a new one cuz it seems this part likes to break. The question is does it matter which plug you put on one end or the other of those nipples? There's no clear difference on the new switch that indicates a positive or negative or anything so I'm not sure which wires connect to which nipple. Also, is it safe to say this part doesn't need to be screwed all the way flush to the radiator? That's how it seemed the old one was on. Just some blue loctite and screw it down most of the way?
And since I've got you in here, I believe I need two hoses and I'm not sure that the car parts store sells the specific parts. First the hose that comes off the rear block and I think attaches to the upper manifold area. Also the hose that comes off the rear of the water pump. Can regular coolant hoses be substituted here and be made to work and what size hose? I think that rear hose had the 90 degree bend so that might be my only real issue
I dont have my wiring diagram in front of me, so I got not help there. As far as the hoses off the rear iron and rear of water pump, I got replacements at Advance autoparts. The have the size in thier computer and will get them for you.

No it doesn't matter. Its a switch that either opens of closes depending on the temperature. I believe it switchs ground but I can't be certain.
Tighten it till its snug pretty much and just make sure that its not going to leak.
