Radiator Questions

Hey this is a weird questiopn but if you ever look under your car you will notice that you have like three tiers of radiators. Do you need all three? Can you take the first small one out and replace it with a nice good looking intercooler? I have an N/A so i dont have one at all. Would this work, has anyone ever tried to do this? I don't know I am kinda bored and am looking for somthing to do to custimize my car.

One is the oil cooler, the other is the coolant radiator, and the third is the evaporator for the air conditioning

Better yet, take out all three and have some kind of tri-intercooler setup for your NA. on a serious note, like said before, all three are responsible for something. Don't go removing and adding stuff because you are bored.

If its on a N/A that was converted to a turbo, how is it going to be in the stock FD spot? If you mean using a stock FD intercooler as a front mount intercooler on a 2nd Gen RX-7, yes it can be done. I don't know if the FD IC is a easy fit or if it will require significant modification of the car, but many people use intercoolers from volkswagens, or toyotas or other cars as front mount intercoolers on their RX-7s. You really should know what you are doing if you are planning on doing work to your vehicle, and no offense or anything, but you don't sound like you know ****. If you can't identify the difference between an oil cooler and a air conditioner condensor, I highly doubt you can fabricate the mounting brackets and piping to install a front mount intercooler. This forum is here to share and archive ideas and information, but we are not a automotive school. We don't teach people how to work on cars. We have actually had people ask where and how to add oil to the engine. Thats not the purpose of this forum. (Unless Jason says it is)

In case someone thinks the FD IC is larger than the FC, they're not. It's more efficient because it's mounted in front.

It's the condenser, not the evaporator. The evaporator is in the dash.
